9 tips for managing your social media over the summer

Are you going on holiday (as we say here in Ireland) or vacation this summer? If so, here’s a list of tips for managing your social media presence in the funeral industry. So you can save time and enjoy some time during the summer season:

Schedule Ahead

If you know you’re going to be on vacation, plan your content in advance. Most social media platforms allow you to schedule posts. Use this feature to maintain a consistent online presence while you’re away.

Seasonal Content

During the summer, share content that is relevant to the season. This could be advice on how to remember loved ones during summer holidays or activities. Or sending warm wishes to your audience. This helps your funeral business to seem more relatable. And in touch with the seasons and events that your followers are experiencing.

Empathy is Key

As a funeral industry professional, your audience could be going through a difficult time. Keep your content compassionate, considerate and supportive. Use your platform to provide comfort and information.

Engage Your Audience

Post interactive content that will encourage engagement. Ask questions, use polls, or post about relevant topics to get your audience involved. Always keep the tone respectful and thoughtful considering your industry.

Delegate Responsibility

If away consider delegating management of your social media channels to someone you trust. Make sure this person understands the tone and type of content that should be shared.

Emergency Plan

Have a plan in place in case of emergencies or sensitive situations that might occur while you are away. This could be negative comments, inappropriate posts on your page or unexpected crises. Make sure there’s someone who can respond promptly and appropriately to these situations.

Stay Updated

Use social media management tools to track your accounts while you’re away. These tools can send notifications of comments or messages allowing you to respond if necessary.

Prepare for Higher Demand

Summer can be a time when more families are holding memorials or celebrations of life. As the weather allows for outdoor gatherings. Be prepared for more queries or requests via social media during this time.

Maintain Your Brand Voice

Always ensure they and you maintain your brand voice while you are away. Your audience should feel as if they’re communicating with the same funeral business. Especially if your posts are being scheduled or handled by different team members.

To Conclude

Even when you’re taking a well-deserved break you can stay consistent. You can ensure that your social media accounts continue to serve as a valuable resource and comforting presence.
